Children's Workshop (Part 2): Emptying the Bowl for the Light
| There’s a story from Hawaii which tells how every child is born with a “Bowl of Perfect Light” and if the child takes good care of the Light, he/she will grow to be strong and able to accomplish many things. However, sometimes things that happen to the child can hurt him/her; that make the child angry and jealous and cause pain. These things are like stones that drop into the Bowl. As more and more drop into the Bowl, the Light gets blocked. And soon, the child becomes like a stone, cannot grow or move. The moral of the story is that the stones and Light cannot be in the same Bowl. The child needs to turn the Bowl upside down and empty it, so that the Light will grow once more. As a follow-up to the Children’s Workshop: Exploring and Healing Feelings, participants in this workshop will experience ways through clay, art and movements for their Light to shine through. Yes, the Light is always there. We just need to offer the right opportunities for the children to find the Light within. who could attend Children aged 8 years and aboveabout the facilitator Thang Mee Yuen Mee Yuen is a certified practitioner of therapeutic play accredited by Play Therapy International (PTI) after completing over 100 hours of clinically supervised work and meeting the required standards by the Canterbury Christ Church University, UK and the IBECPT.
